ROBERT LEE JONES 

   Robert Lee Jones, 72, of Ivor died at 4:15 o’clock Saturday afternoon, 
December 13, in Lakeview Hospital, Suffolk, after an illness of one week. 

   He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ora Harris Jones, two daughters, Miss 
Shirley Jones of Washington, D.C., and Mrs. Ryland G. Taliaferro of 
Tappahannock; one granddaughter, Helen Elizabeth Taliaferro; three sisters, 
Mrs. J.J. Raiford of Ivor, Mrs. Robert Scott of Midlothian, and Mrs. Laura 
Maney of Hampton; and five brothers, J.J. Jones, H.C. Jones and G.C. Jones 
of Richmond, and W.W. Jones and D.B. Jones of Hampton. 

   Funeral services for Mr. Jones were conducted Monday afternoon at 3:30 
o’clock at the grave in Ivor Cemetery, with Rev. T.N. Tombes, pastor of the 
Ivor Baptist Church, officiating.  Pallbearers were Russell Johnson, Homer 
Saunders, Nathaniel Shackleford, F.T. Joyner, Thomas Pulley, W.C. Rawles, 
Leander Saunders, and T.V. Downing.

His Death Certificate, #27012, incorrectly gives his mother's maiden name 
   as "Jernigan" - it was JENNINGS. 

She is buried in a JONES family cemetery on Broadwater Rd.
