Holland and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins and Rev. Donald Trump officiating. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery with Masonic rites at the grave. Pallbearers were Delaney Hingerty, Hap Purnell, Paul Councill Jr., Charles Weithers, Vaughan Beale, Jim Ayers, Hunter Darden Sr. and E.A. Davis. Jones died in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Nansemond County, he was the son of Francis M. and Pattie Lawrence Jones and the husband of Mrs. Lee Ora Winslow Jones. He was a retired machinist for Union Camp Corp. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and the oldest member of Franklin Masonic Lodge #150. Other than his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Terita Ann Peale of Newport News, and three grandchildren, Dan, Janice and David Peale of Newport News.
