WILLIE FORBES OLIVER JONES 

   Mrs. Willie Oliver Jones, 92, widow of James Thomas Jones, died Monday 
in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert J. Jager of Scarsdale, N.Y.

   A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of Thomas Williamson 
and Mrs. Alice Sherwood Parker Oliver of Franklin.  She was a retired 
schoolteacher.

   She received her education in Franklin, Farmville, State Teacher College 
and old Norfolk College.

   She taught in Sunbury, N.C.  She was a member of Court Street Baptist 
Church, Portsmouth, and Stonewall Jackson Chapter of Daughters of the 
Confederacy, Portsmouth.

   Besides her daughter, surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Lee Oliver Fagan, 
Mrs. Ruby Oliver Allen and Mrs. Mae Oliver Graves of Stanardsville, Va., and 
three grandchildren.

   A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in Poplar Spring 
Cemetery by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins of Franklin Baptist Church.  W.J.M. 
Holland and Sons Funeral Home in charge.

   Pallbearers are R.D. Allport, Jr., Joe Nye Wiggins, J.B. Johnson, Joseph 
Stutts and William H. Cutchin.
