Jones, Sr. FRANKLIN, April 14 - Funeral services lor William Mason Jones, Sr., 75, father of W. Mason Jones, Jr., of 901 Delaware Avenue, are to be held this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Holland Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. H.L. Foster, officiating. Interment is to follow in the Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin. Mr. Jones died Friday night at the Lakeview Hospital in Suffolk after a short illness. He was the son of the late Willie H. and Lillian Lawrence Jones of Nansemond County. Other survivors include another son, Lawrence F. Jones, of Franklin; a daughter, Mrs. Roy Morrison, of Morgantown, North Carolina; two brothers, A.W.D. Jones and Carey Jones, both of Norfolk: nine grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Holland Baptist Church and a well-known farmer of Nansemond County. The body was taken to the W.J.M. Holland Funeral Home in Franklin, where it is to remain until this afternoon at noon. At this time it will be taken to the Holland Baptist Church to lie in state from 2:30 o'clock until the funeral hour. ****************************************************************************** WILLIAM MASON JONES William Mason Jones, Sr., 74, a well-known farmer of Nansemond County, died in Lakeview Hospital, Suffolk, on Friday night, April 13, after a brief illness. He was the son of the late William Mason [sic; Harrison] and Lillian Lawrence Jones of Nansemond County. Surviving him are two sons, William Jones, Jr., of Suffolk and Lawrence F. Jones of Franklin; a daughter, Mrs. Roy Morrison of Morganton, N.C.; two brothers, A.W.D. Jones and Carey Jones of Norfolk; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Jones were conducted from the Holland Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock by the pastor, Rev. Henry L. Foster, assisted by Rev. Duane N. Vore of Suffolk. Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, the active pallbearers being Alton Cobb, C.W. Howell, Jr., Jack Jones, James E. Jones, Wayland F. Jones, Charles Rawls, James E. Rawls and J.L. Williams.
