ANDREW JACKSON JENKINS, JR.

   CAPRON - Graveside funeral services for Andrew Jackson "Jack" Jenkins, Jr. 
were conducted Monday July 30, at 11 a.m. in the Capron Cemetery in 
Southampton County.

   The Rev. Arthur Green of Centenary United Methodist Church officiated, 
assisted by the Rev. Robert P. Wyatt of High Hills, Baptist Church.  Owen 
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

   Jenkins, 67, died Friday, July 27, in Petersburg General Hospital.

   A native of Southampton County, he was a son of the late Clara Beale and 
Andrew J. Jenkins Sr.  He was a retired manufacturing foreman with the 
Southern Johns-Manville Corporation in Jarratt and a member of Centenary Unity 
Methodist Church.

   He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Willie Griffin Jenkins of Jarratt; one 
daughter, Mrs. Betty Lou Turner of Richmond; one son, Jackie Griffin Jenkins 
of Jarratt; two brothers, Clarence L. Jenkins of Capron and Stuart H. Jenkins 
of Courtland.

   Active pallbearers were Thurston Faris, R.M. Temple, R.M. Williams, Hugh 
Parker, Roland Baker, Al Harlow, P.R. Clarke and James Jenkins.

   In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to the Stony 
Creek Rescue Squad, Stony Creek.
