All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ BENJAMIN FRANKLIN JOHNSON Benjamin Franklin Johnson died Wednesday afternoon at Raiford Hospital in his 65th year, after a brief illness. Mr. Johnson, who was a native of North Carolina, had made his home in Franklin for 50 years and had been an employee of the Camp Manufacturing Company for about 18 years. He is survived by his wife who was before her marriage, Miss Grace Sledge of Littleton, N.C., a brother, M.H. Johnson of Franklin, two nephews, three nieces and a large number of friends. Funeral services were held from the home in Chestnut Street yesterday afternoon at 4 o’clock by the Rev. J. Sutherland-Watt, interment following in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The pallbearers were; L.A. Whitley, F.W. Wellons, W.H. Jones of A., C.F. Whitfield, Frank Bunch, M.F. Redford, P.H. Drake and T. Cleveland Whitley. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church and of the Bruner Bible Class, members of the class acting as honorary bearers.
