CARLTON CEDRIC JENKINS

   CAPRON - Carlton Cedric Jenkins, 59, died Monday morning in a Stamford, 
Conn., hospital after a heart attack.

   A native of Southampton County, he was a son of Andrew J. and Clara Beale 
Jenkins and was a member of Capron Methodist Church.

   He was a graduate of the College of William and Mary and did graduate work 
at Columbia University and Stamford University.  He formerly was a professor 
at N.C. State College and Arkansas State College.  At the time of his death, 
he was headmaster of Roosevelt School, a private institution in Stamford.

   He is survived by three brothers, Clarence C. Jenkins of Capron, Stuart 
Jenkins of Courtland and A.J. Jenkins, Jr., of Jarratt.

   Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Capron Cemetery by 
Rev. J.S. Peebles of Capron Methodist Church, Rev. Dalphon J. Thompson of 
Drewryville and Rev. R.H. Marks, retired.
