He was born in Boykins September 5, 1886, the son of Dick and Chetta Johnson, and is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lina Sue Johnson and an infant son and by two brothers, George and Sam Johnson, both of Boykins. He was a member of the Barnes M.E. Church and funeral services were conducted by Rev. Frank B. Handley at the residence Friday afternoon at 3 o’clock with interment at Beechwood Cemetery. Music was furnished by Mrs. H.M. Purivance. The pallbearers were: Jesse Story, Hugh Vick, W.J. Hill, George Hill, Thomas Johnson and Floyd Bryant.
