Johnson, 86, died Sunday morning in a Roanoke Rapids, N.C., hospital. A native of Bertie County, N.C., he was a son of James and Frances Lee Johnson and husband of the late Mrs. Gertrude Taylor Johnson. He was a retired merchant and farmer and a member of the Boykins Baptist Church. Surviving are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mildred T. Deals of Boykins; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Miles of Boykins and Mrs. Sue Pulley of Roanoke Rapids; and two grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Boykins Baptist Church by Rev. Ben B. Ussery. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery with McDowell Funeral Home in charge. [Charlie L.
