All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ DAISY MULDER JOHNSON HANDSOM - A funeral service for Mrs. Daisy Mulder Johnson, 79, was held Monday at 3 p.m. in Mount Horeb United Methodist Church by the Revs. Arthur W. Green and Harry Bunch. Burial was in the church cemetery, with McDowell Funeral Home, Boykins, in charge. Mrs. Johnson died Saturday in the home of her daughter in Franklin. A native of Southampton County, she was the widow of Eugene Thomas Johnson, and the mother of Joseph E. Johnson of Newsoms, Southampton County administrator. She was a member of Mount Horeb United Methodist Church and a longtime Sunday school teacher and holder of many church offices. She was also a member of Newsoms Golden Age Club. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. D.C. Blythe Sr. of Franklin, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Donald Rountree Sr. of Handsom; two stepsons, Harry L. Johnson of Handsom and Linwood L. Johnson of Richmond; a sister, Mrs. Ethel L. Futrell of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; five half-sisters, Mrs. Ann Landen of Roanoke Rapids, Mrs. Cloye M. Brown and Mrs. Eunice Abernathy of Chesapeake, and Mrs. Eula Grizzard of Adrian, Ga. And Mrs. Leona Hill of Norfolk; a stepmother, Mrs. Mary Emma Parker of Roanoke Rapids; two half-brothers, Harry Mulder of Franklin and David Mulder of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
