JOHNSON Funeral services for E.N. Johnson were held Sunday afternoon at the residence in Ivor by the Rev. L.T. Callahan, assisted by the Rev. T.W. Ogden. The choir sang "Abide with Me" and "Hark, Hark, My Soul," and a trio composed of Dr. Percy Fox, Rev. Woolfork Fox and the Rev. Nelson Fox sang "After," and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Active pallbearers were J.R. Bryant, W.C. Rawls, B.H. Lane, J.I. Joyner, F.F. Jenkins, J.S. Bryant, F.T. Joyner and Dennis I Tuttle. Honorary pallbearers were L.T. Saunders, John W. Bryant, R.E. Stewart, Dr. L.J. Head, N.T. Pittman, J.M. Claud, G.F. Kirkland, G.A. Lankford, R.H. Cobb, R.N. Darden, H.A. Moore and T.V. Downing. Burial was in the family cemetery. Among the out-of-town relatives and friends present were Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Tuttle, of Norfolk; Mr. and Mrs. J.I. Joyner of Petersburg; Mrs. Bertram Warren and Mrs. Sam Locke, of Portsmouth; Mr. and Mrs. John M. Eley of Suffolk; Dr. L.J. Dead and family of Caroline County; Mr. and Mrs. Julian Parr, of King William County and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnson of Norfolk. ****************************************************************************** E.N. JOHNSON, IVOR CITIZEN AND SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER, DEAD Elijah Norfleet Johnson, well-known Ivor citizen, died in Lakeview Hospital, Suffolk, April 26, after an illness of a few weeks. Born in the Black Creek community of Southampton County on March 28, 1867, the son of the late Nathan and Mrs. Barbara Johnson, he had played a useful and worth- while part as a citizen of the town where he had lived for many years. As a young man he lived in Franklin for a while, clerking for the late I.W. Norfleet, but the greater part of his life had been spent in Ivor. Mr. Johnson was engaged in the mercantile business in Ivor until just a few months before his death an had given faithful service to the school interests of his district and the county as a member of the County School Board since 1907. He was a consistent communicant of the Ivor M.E. Church, a member of its board of stewards and Sunday school superintendent. Mr. Johnson was twice married, his first wife being Miss Elizabeth Fox of Caroline County who died about 27 years ago. His second wife who survives his with three children was before her marriage Miss Emma Foushee, daughter of the late Rev. N.B. Foushee of this county. Their children are Misses Natalie and Sarah Johnson and Norfleet Johnson; he leaves two brothers W.T. Johnson of Ivor and A.M. Johnson of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Nannie Bradshaw of Sedley and Mrs. Elijah Joyner of Washington. Funeral services were conducted from the residence in Ivor Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the presence of a large company of friends, conducted by his Pastor, Rev. L.F. Callahan, assisted by Rev. T.W. Ogden and Rev. A.K. Lambdin. Burial was made in the Ivor Cemetery, the pallbearers being; J.T. Bryant, W.C. Rawls, B.H. Land, J.S. Bryant, Supt. Of Schools F.F. Jenkins, F.T. Joyner and Dennis I. Tuttle. The honorary bearers were: L.T. Saunders, R.E. Stewart, T.V. Downing, Lloyd C. Pulley, John W. Bryant, Dr. L.J. Head and the following members of the County School Board: G.A. Lankford, J.W. Claud, Dr. R.H. Cobb, G.C. Kirkland, R.N. Darden and H.A. Moore. Out of town relatives and friends here for the funeral were: Dr. L.J. Head and family of Caroline County, Dr. Percy Fox of McComas, W. Va., Rev. Nelson Fox and Rev. Woolfolk Fox of Martinsville, Va., Mr. and Mrs. Julian Parr of King William County, Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Johnson and Lloyd Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Tuttle, Mr. and Mrs. J. Peter Holland and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Johnson of Norfolk, Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Joyner, Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Bushong and Nathan White of Petersburg, Rev. and Mrs. T.W.
