JOHNSON BURIED SUNDAY HANDSOM - Eugene Thomas Johnson, 75, died Thursday night* in Raiford Memorial Hospital, Franklin, after a short illness. He was the husband of Mrs. Daisy Mulder Johnson and a son of Henry L. and Mrs. Mary Hedgepeth Johnson. He was a retired farmer of Handsom, Southampton County, and lived there all his life. He was a member of Mt. Horeb Methodist Church. Besides his widow, surviving are five sons, Linwood L. Johnson of Richmond, Capt. Joseph E. Johnson of Washington, William Johnson of Franklin, Harry L. Johnson of Roanoke and E.L. Johnson of Handsom; three daughters, Mrs. Edward Browder of Portsmouth, Mrs. D.C. Blythe of Carrsville and Mrs. D.E. Rountree of Handsom; three brothers, R.L. Johnson, J.C. Johnson and E.R. Johnson of Franklin; three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Gilliam, Mrs. G.T. Baker of Handsom and Mrs. Linwood Spencer of Hamlet, N.C., and 14 grandchildren. A funeral service was held at W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, Sunday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. H. Warren Landis, pastor of Mt. Horeb Methodist Church, and the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton, Jr., pastor of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, with burial in Mt. Horeb Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harry Fowler, Elbert Whitehead, Walter Bishop, Karl Scott, Wilson Story, J.W.
