She is survived by her mother and father, five brothers and six sisters. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. F.B. Handley, were held at Beechwood Cemetery Tuesday afternoon. Pallbearers were: Aubrey Johnson, Herbert Francis, Joe, John, Roy and Raleigh Johnson. Frances Lee JOHNSON, daughter of Walter & Addie R. The Death Cert., citing informant Joe Johnson, of R.F.D. 1, Boykins - possibly Frances' brother - gives her mother as Addie Stephens. The confusion of surnames ending -S with those ending -SON is very common. Her parents' marriage record: Walter Johnson, 23, white, res. Hertford Co. Addie R. Stevenson, 17, white m. 27 Mar 1901, Murfreesboro, by Rev. J.A. Rood wits: H.E. Underwood, Jesse Francis (Hertford Co., NC M.Reg. 1868-1994) Her family appears in the 1920 Census in South Kirby Twp., Northampton Co., NC (sheet 4B; Farm #53). Her maternal grandparents were Carr & Margaret (ENGLISH) STEPHENS/STEPHENSON, m. 19 Mar 1873, in Isle of Wight Co., VA. (FamilySearch.org "VA Marriages") Her mother's family appears in the 1900 Census in Murfreesboro, Hertford Co., NC (e.d. 51, sheet 6B; Farm #65).
