JOHNSON Sampson Floyd Johnson, 57, of 408 E. Church Street, Orlando, Fla., formerly of this county, died Saturday morning, March 29, at Orange Memorial Hospital, following an illness of about a week. Mr. Johnson, who had made his home in the Florida city for the past two and a half years, was a clerk in the Jefferson Court Hotel. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the Eiselstein- Wigginton Home for Funerals in Orlando, with Rev. J. Powell Tucker, D.D., officiating. The body was then forwarded to Sedley for interment. The committal services were read at the grave in Rosemont Cemetery at Sedley on Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Percy D. White, pastor of the Courtland Methodist Church. Active pallbearers were J.E. Davis, Howard Hancock, H.I. Joyner, C.B. Owen, Pressley Davis of Norfolk, and T.F. Hundley. The deceased is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Sarah C. Faircloth of Raleigh, N.C., and Mrs. B.D. Crocker of Suffolk; and by four brothers, Josephus T. Johnson of Orlando, Fla., Rufus L. Johnson of Sedley, J. Pettaway Johnson of Richmond, and I. Austin Johnson of Norfolk.
