Johnson, 76, well-known resident of Southampton County, died this morning at his home near Black Creek. Surviving him are a son, Henry Johnson of Norfolk, a daughter, Mrs. Nettie Tilford of Smithfield, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at Black Creek Baptist Church, Tuesday at 3 p.m., by the Rev. R.E. Vellines, and burial will be in the family cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Reuben Barrett, Charles and Edward Hatfield, R.W. and Sam Drewry, Fenton Bryant, Joe Spivey, and Ken Wade. ****************************************************************************** ADMINISTRATOR'S NOTICE Having qualified as administrator on the estate of the late H.W. D.Cert. 11716 (Jerusalem #5) gives buried Black Creek by W.J.M. Holland & Sons, but does not specify Black Creek Baptist Church. It seems equally likely he was buried at home.
