All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JOSEPH BADGER JOHNSON Joseph Badger Johnson, 70, a native of Southampton County and a resident of Capron for the past twenty-two years, died last Friday night, March 12, in the home of Mrs. J.L. Kelly in Capron after a lingering illness. He was the son of the late John H. and Cornelia Revelle Johnson, also of this county, and is survived by a daughter, Miss Ruth Cornelia Johnson, who makes her home with Mrs. Kelly. His wife, Annie Griffin Johnson, preceded him to the grave more than seventeen years ago. He was a member of Clarksbury Methodist Church. Funeral services for Mr. Johnson were conducted at the grave in Capron cemetery Monday afternoon at two o’clock by Rev. L.D. Stables of Union Level, a former pastor of the Capron Methodist Church, assisted by Revs. A.W. Linthieum and H.B. Jennings. During the service Joel Holland of Murfreesboro sang "Sunrise" and "The Christian’s Good Night." The casket was covered with a pall of pink and white carnations. Pallbearers were James D. Edwards, William B. Edwards, Carl F. Edwards, W.H. Story, Dr. J.J. Grizzard, R.B. Vaughan, W.E. Miles, and L.R. Magee.
