JOHNSON James Frank Johnson, 73, a native of Southampton County and a resident of Franklin for the past 21 years, died in Raiford Memorial Hospital on Sunday morning, February 3, after two years of ill health. Mr. Johnson was the husband of Mrs. Olia Winston Blythe Johnson of Franklin, and the son of the late Sidney and Mrs. Maggie L. Johnson of the county. He was a member of the Latter Day Saints Church of Roanoke Rapids, N.C. Besides his wife he is survived by five sons, Jack and Ernest Johnson of Franklin, Roy Haywood and James Forrest Johnson of Roanoke Rapids, and Linwood Allen Johnson of Sanford, N.C.; five daughters, Mrs. Lottie Pace of Roanoke Rapids, and Mrs. Hazel Wilmouth, Mrs. Elizabeth Councill, Mrs. Christine Ricks and Mrs. Evelyn Tabor, all of Franklin; 16 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren; three brothers, Johnnie Johnson of Franklin, Sidney Johnson of Suffolk, and Claude Johnson of Walters; and one sister, Mrs. Maggie Johnson Brewer of Emporia. Funeral services for Mr. Johnson were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in Bethel Friends Meetinghouse, followed by interment in Beechwood cemetery, Boykins. The pallbearers wer Herbert Blythe, Otis Blythe, Louis Cranford, Paul Johnson, Albert Pulley, and Johnny Vaughan.
