All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JAMES HENRY JOHNSON PORTSMOUTH - James Henry Johnson, 69, husband of Mrs. Minnie* Johnson of 253 Dale Dr., died Tuesday night in a Portsmouth hospital after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Henry and Rosa Brown Johnson*. He was a native of Courtland. Mr. Johnson had lived in the Portsmouth area for 43 years. He was a former police officer and at his death was a taxi driver. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Virginia Delmonte of Quincy, Mass.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Margaret Tenner of Alexandria, and Mrs. Mary E. Paul of Portsmouth; one son, Wilbur J. Johnson of South Carolina; and one sister, Mrs. W.N. Pond of Richmond. Funeral services will be conducted at the Sturtevant Funeral Home Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
