All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ KATHERINE LANGSTON JOHNSON FRANKLIN - Mrs. Katherine Langston Johnson, 72, of 408 Chestnut St., died Friday in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Edgecombe County, N.C., she was the wife of William E. Johnson. She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Besides her husband, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lois Thornton of Hampton, and Mrs. Katherine Jenkins of Murfreesboro, N.C.; a son, Robert E. Johnson of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. Fred Farrar of Wilmington, N.C.; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in Emmanuel Episcopal Church by the Rev. Ben Duffy. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society. W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home has charge.
