All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ LENORA DAVIS JOHNSON IVOR - A funeral service for Mrs. Lenora Davis Johnson was conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, by the Rev. Brian Tiffany. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin. Pallbearers were Marvis Felts, Homer Saunders, Merrell Carr, Russell West, Dr. M.C. Chesson, Henry Clark, J.T. Faircloth Jr., and Samuel Bryant. Mrs. Johnson died Tuesday morning in a Portsmouth nursing home after a long illness. A native of Southampton County, she was the widow of Walter P. Johnson and a daughter of Samuel W. and Mrs. Martha Williams Davis. She was a member and former Sunday School teacher of Ivor Baptist Church. She formerly taught in public schools of Southampton County. Surviving are a son, Henry Watkins Johnson of Ivor, and two sisters, Mrs. Garnette D. McClenny of Franklin and Miss Gypsy L.
