Johnson, wife of the late John Wesley Johnson of Sedley died Saturday, April 1, at the home of her son, J.P. Johnson, of Sedley. Mrs. Johnson was born in North Carolina, August 23, 1858, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Littleberry Smith. Surviving her are one daughter, Mrs. O.L. Matthews of Murfreesboro; three sons, J.B. Johnson of Emporia, L.E. Johnson of Murfreesboro, and J.P. Johnson of Sedley. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, April 2, at the grave in the family cemetery near Boykins with Rev. E. Rives Ferguson, pastor of the Sedley Baptist Church, officiating, assisted by Rev. J.W. Trimmer of Emporia. Music was furnished my Mrs. K.H. Howell and Miss Frances Wade. Active pallbearers were L.A. Hill, M. Turner, James Blythe, J.F. Copeland, D.L. Tillery, C. Ferguson, H.H. Chappell and Luther Worrell. Martha Jane (SMITH; John W.)
