OSCAR THOMAS JOHNSON

   Oscar Thomas Johnson, age 31, son of Mrs. Emma J. Councill and the late 
George Johnson died at his late home Thursday evening, October 22, after a 
long illness.

   Besides his mother he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hattie Mulder Johnson; 
one daughter Audrey Johnson; three sons, George, Milton and Oscar Johnson, 
Jr., also several half-brothers and sisters.

   Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.K. Holman from the home Friday 
afternoon with burial in the family cemetery nearby.  Mrs. H.M. Purviance and 
Mrs. A.M. Williams of Boykins sung several favorite hymns.  The pallbearers 
were: Harry Fowler, Spurgeon Gilliam, Robert Johnson, E.T. Johnson, Tillman 
Bailey and Alonzo Whitley.
