Green and J. Waverly Horne. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. She died Monday in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin. She was the widow of James C. Johnson and a native of Southampton County. She was a member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Mason of Franklin and Mrs. Ruby J. Wiggins of Richmond; two sons, James C. Johnson, Jr. of Handsom and Burtrelle Johnson of Emporia; four sisters, Mrs. Mattie Beaton of Gloucester Point, Mrs. Elma Frenkel of St. Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Rushe Johnson of Handsom and Inez Tuttle of Richmond; a brother, Howard L. Ritter of Windsor; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
