JOHNSON DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS Mrs. Susie Rawls Johnson, 85, of 134 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg; died on Monday on January 25, at her residence after a long illness. She was the widow of Dr. J.R.L. Johnson, who had been professor of English at the College of William and Mary, and the sister of Mrs. W.T. Pace, Dr. J.C. Rawls, R.P. Rawls and Sol W. Rawls of Franklin. Besides her brothers and sister of Franklin, Mrs. Johnson is survived by two sons, J.R.L. Johnson, Jr. of Wilmington, Del. and Robert Bruce Johnson of Williamsburg; a sister, Miss Mabel Rawls of Norfolk; and a brother, John A. Rawls of Holland; and three grandchildren. Born in Nansemond County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Dianna Cutchins Rawls. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Holland Funeral Home. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin.
