Mrs. Johnson lived all her life in Southampton County. She was a daughter of William Henry and Mattie Bryant Baugham. She was a member of Vincent Grove Methodist Church and was a Sunday school teacher there for 34 years. She was a past president of the Women’s Society of Christian Service at the church and a member of the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union and the Vincent Grove Home Demonstration Club. She is survived by her husband, Dallas E. Johnson of Courtland; a daughter, Mrs. Jesse Drewry of Franklin; three sisters, Mrs. Willie Johnson of Capron, Mrs. Ivey Underwood of Franklin and Mrs. Emmett Applewhite of Courtland; two brothers, Robert Baugham of Boykins and Ollie Baugham of Norfolk; and two grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted Wednesday at 3 p.m. in H.M. Purviance and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. J.S. Peebles of Vincent Grove Methodist Church and the Rev. Harold Tribble of Hunterdale Christian Church. Burial was in Capron cemetery. Pallbearers were Emmett Baugham, Caroll Barnes, S.L. Bryant, Lloyd Applewhite, J.M. Burgess, J.S. Burgess John B.
