All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WILLIAM JIMMIE JENKINS William Jimmie Jenkins, 57, husband of Mary Alice Jenkins of Courtland died Monday, April 1, in Lakeview Hospital after an illness of two months. He was the son of the late Thomas and Georganna Manry Jenkins and was a lifelong resident of Southampton County. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Kennie D. Jenkins, and a daughter, Mrs. Joe Vargo of Courtland and the following brothers and sister, G.W. Jenkins of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; W.L. Jenkins of Wakefield, R.T. Jenkins of Petersburg; Mrs. James Aswell of Capron, Mrs. Willie Manry of Joyner and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the grave in Riverside Cemetery by the Rev. Percy D. White, pastor of Courtland Methodist Church. Pallbearers were A.B. Cobb, R.N. Wells, C.H. Rowe, R.B. Journigan, L.L. Wade and E.T. Manry.
