Bertha H. Joyner 

  Mrs. Bertha Hasty Joyner, 75, of Franklin died Sunday in a hospital.  She 
was a native of Southampton County and the widow of Oscar L. Joyner. 

  She was a member of Courtland Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star; the 
Hospital Auxiliary; and Burdette Baptist Church. 

  Survivors include two sons, Burton Lee Joyner of Roanoke and Edwin T. Joyner 
of Franklin; four sisters, Mrs. Grace Woltz of Newport News, Mrs. Nell Whitley 
of Portsmouth, Mrs. Inez Metheney of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Mrs. Florence 
Kirkland of Capron; and five grandchildren. 

  A funeral will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in Burdette Baptist Church by Revs. 
Edwin C. Thornton Jr. and Rufus Corbett.  Burial will be in Poplar Spring 
Cemetery.
