Joyner Dies At Zuni After Long Illness Mrs. Dina L. Joyner, widow of Matthew Joyner, died at the home of a son at Zuni this morning at 10 o'clock. She had been ill for a long while. She was 83 years of age. Surviving Mrs. Joyner are two daughters, Mrs. Essie A. Bland, of Zuni, and Mrs. Sallie Stephenson, of Windsor; two sons, C.M. and P.L. Joyner, of Zuni; 14 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Tucker Swamp Baptist Church with the Rev. Mr. Kissinger in charge. Burial will be in the church cemetery. ****************************************************************************** DIANA L. BOWDEN JOYNER Mrs. Diana L. Joyner died after an illness of several months at the home of her son, P.N. Joyner, in Zuni last Friday, in her 82nd year. She was the daughter of the late Elias and Mrs. Sallie Bowden and has been a resident of the Tucker Swamp community all her life. She was the oldest member of the Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, a love-able Christian woman and a devoted mother, her life being an inspiration to all who knew her. She was gentle, pious and a loyal friend. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Essie A. Bland of Zuni and Mrs. Sallie Stephenson of Windsor; two sons, C.M. and P.N. Joyner, both of Zuni; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 3:00 p.m. from Tucker Swamp Baptist Church by the pastor. Rev. George Kissinger, assisted by the Rev. N.V. Carroll of Windsor Baptist Church and the Rev. N.R. Buhlor, pastor of the Zuni Presbyterian Church. The choir sang "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" and "Shall We Meet Beyond the River," a duet, "In a Land Where We Never Grow Old," being sung by Mrs. Homer Whitley and W.R. Buhlor, accompanied by Mrs. A.F. Wills. A pall of white and purple asters covered designs from friends, church and organizations. The active pallbearers were: C.J. Worrell, J.R. Powell, J.H. Clark, R.A. Horne, R.M. Doles, W.C. Andrews, O.C. Bradshaw and B.W. Eley. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family.
