EDWIN HUNTER JOYNER

   Edwin Hunter Joyner, age 59 years, well known farmer of Southampton 
County, died this morning at his home on the Courtland and Boykins road, 
after many months of illness.  He was the son of Elijah and Anna Williams 
Joyner, of this county.

   He was a faithful member of the Whitehead Methodist Church, where he 
served for many years.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucy Barnes Joyner, 
five daughters, Misses Anna Laura, Lucy Hunter, Elizabeth Frances, Edwin 
Rachel and Betty Farley Joyner, all of Capron; two sons, Thomas Gilliam and 
Louis Quillian Joyner, of Capron; two brothers, Floyd T. Joyner of Ivor and 
John E. Joyner, Courtland; one sister, Mrs. Annie Mae Joyner of Courtland, 
and a number of nieces and nephews.
