She was in her 79th year and is survived by a sister, Mrs. Turner of Burdette. She was a faithful member of Joyner's Christian Church and the funeral services were held by Dr. C.H. Rowland July 4, at 3 o'clock the interment following in the family burying ground. Elizabeth "Bettie" JOYNER, d. 3 Jul 1916, age circa 78*, interred in the family cemetery*, 4 Jul 1916, "The Tidewater News" (Franklin, VA), July 7, 1916 *Additional information: Site not known (Dec 2023) to the Southampton County Historical Society {SCHS} Cemetery Project. The 1900 Census (Franklin Dist, Southampton Co.) gives b. Oct 1838; enumerated with Margaret Kitchen (misread "Hitchen"). No D.Cert. found. She seems to be the daughter of Sinclair "Sink" JOYNER (b. ca. 1794). Sink 1m. Permelia BARNES, daughter of Jacob; m.bond 22 Dec 1807. He m. Sarah E. FOREST/FORREST in 1851. (Southampton Co.
