R.A. Richardson, at the Purviance Funeral Chapel at Wakefield for Gosper Lee Joyner, 63, who died at a Franklin hospital yesterday after a brief illness. He was a farmer of the Zuni community, a native of Southampton County and a member of the Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. He is survived by one son, James L. Joyner of Zuni; three daughters, Miss Gladys Joyner of Norfolk, Mrs. Willard Duke of Walters and Mrs. Lloyd Cutchins of Franklin; one brother, William M. Joyner of Ivor; one sister, Mrs. Earl Fulford of Norfolk; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be in the Tucker Swamp Cemetery. ****************************************************************************** GOSPER LEE JOYNER Gosper Lee Joyner, 63, a farmer of the Zuni community, died early Sunday morning, July 29, in Raiford Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Southampton County and a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. He is survived by one son, James L. Joyner of Zuni; three daughters, Miss Gladys Joyner of Norfolk, Mrs. Willard Duke of Walters and Mrs. Lloyd Cutchins of Franklin; one brother, William M. Joyner of Ivor; one sister, Mrs. Earl Fulford of Norfolk; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the Purviance Funeral chapel at Wakefield with Rev. R.A. Richardson officiating. Mrs. Nan Bland Seeley sang "Sunrise". Burial was in Tucker Swamp Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Alvah Wills, Roger Britt, Harold West, Junior Bowden, Byron Bowden, Sr., and Philip Worrell. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family.
