She was the wife of Charlie J. Joyner and a daughter of Benjamin Franklin Parker and the late Lucy Minton Parker. She was a member of Millsfield Baptist Church. Surviving, besides her husband and father, are nine sons, Robert M. Ellis of Carrsville, William A. Ellis of Suffolk, Charles B. Ellis of Midwest City, Okla., James L. Ellis of Ivor, Frank W. Ellis of Newport News and Jesse R. Ellis, Harry M. Ellis, Thomas R. Ellis and J.C. Joyner of Franklin. Three sisters, Mrs. Grover Kizer of Holland, Mrs. Julia Spence of Franklin and Mrs. Lillian Pittman of Whitakers, N.C., six brothers, Charles H. Parker of Portsmouth, Frank Clifton Parker of Sedley, Ralph Minton Parker of Carrsville, and Robert Frederick Parker, Wade Hampton Parker and Jasper Wilson Parker of Franklin; and 14 grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home Friday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins, pastor of Franklin Baptist Church. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
