AND MRS. ASA JOYNER IS FATALLY BURNED The tragic death of little Iris Joyner has cast a shadow over this community. With her little hands full of peanuts to toast for "Daddy," she in some way upset the boiling coffee which proved fatal to her young life. She was an attractive and intelligent child, making friends wherever she went. Her home without her smile will not seem the dame, but - Heaven is made richer For the angels have called Little Iris there, And in the hearts of all will linger Her smiling face so sweet and fair. She leaves to mourn their loss, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Asa Joyner, and one sister, Essie Mae. Funeral services were held Friday, January 20, at Poplar Spring Cemetery with Rev. R.E. Brittle officiating. J. Edgar Weede, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Jones, Mrs. L.B. Norfleet and Mrs. Rosalie Britt sang, "Safe In The Arms of Jesus" and "Jewels." The active pallbearers were: Masters J.G. Cobb, Robert Bradshaw, J.G. Joyner and Moorman White. A Friend.
