WILLIAMS OF SMITHFIELD DIES IN SUFFOLK. Suffolk, Oct. 21. - Mrs. Iris Joyner, wife of the late Ashton Joyner, and a prominent resident of Southampton county, died Sunday afternoon at Lakeview Hospital after a brief illness. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Rebecca Williams; six brothers, E.R. Williams of Smithfield, Reginald Williams of Richmond, and Clyde, Leslie, Millard and William Williams of Southampton county, and one sister, Mrs. Gardner Hundley, of Southampton county. Mrs. Joyner was a niece of Moses and D.K. Joyner and of Mrs. R.L. Hancock of this city. Funeral services were held at the residence near Courtland on Monday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock. Burial was in the family cemetery. Mrs. Joyner was a member of the Methodist church near her home, and was active in church affairs. ******************************************************************************* IRIS CLAIR WILLIAMS JOYNER Funeral services for Mrs. Iris Williams Joyner of the Trinity community were held at the grove in the family cemetery at the Henry Joyner homestead near Courtland Monday at 3 o’clock. Mrs. Joyner died in Lakeview Hospital, Suffolk, Sunday after a short illness. She was the widow of the late W. Ashton Joyner, who preceded her to the grave five years ago. She was the daughter of the late J.F. Williams and was born December 11, 1893. Surviving besides her mother are one sister, Mrs. G.T. Hundley of Sedley, and six brothers, E.H. Williams of Smithfield, Millard Williams of Sebrell, Reginald Williams of Richmond, and Leslie, Willie and Clyde of Trinity community, besides a number of nieces and nephews. "Abide with Me" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" were sung at the grave. There were many beautiful floral tributes. The body bearers were: G.B. Vick, Sidney Vick, H.E. Kitchen, Jr., Jesse Joyner, Jim Joyner, Elmo Pittman, Donald Little and Dr. Linwood Farley. Among relatives who attended the funeral were Mrs. E.H. Williams and son of Smithfield, Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Williams of Richmond, Mrs. G.W. Seal and Misses Mary and Elizabeth Bell of Richmond. Iris Clair (WILLIAMS; Mrs. W.
