Cobb, was born November 19, 1866, near Vicksville, and died October 3, 1922, at her home near Sedley. She was converted when seven years of age and united with Trinity M.E. Church in 1873. On September 30, 1918 her membership was transferred to Grace Memorial M.E. Church. September 11, 1910 she was married to Hurley R. Joyner and since that date has lived in this community, her childhood home. She leaves a devoted husband whose grief is doubled in that the death of his mother occurred only three months ago; a father-in-law, J.F. Joyner, one brother, W.R.L. Cobb, of Sebrell, and a sister, Mrs. Philip Brittle of Ivor, besides a host of relatives and friends. The home has lost a soul possessing all of the finer qualities of Christianity, her church a true communicant, always rendering services, and who will long be remembered as a most efficient teacher of the Ladies’ Bible Class. To the bereaved ones the consciousness of the influence of such a life as hers will ever be a benediction. The funeral services were conducted at the grave on the family lot in Rosemont Cemetery by her pastor, Rev. J.E. Brooks, assisted by Rev. W.B. Fuller and Rev. Nathan Pickett and three hymns were used, "Shall We Meet?" "Jesus Lover of My Soul" and "Nearer My God to Thee." Among the beautiful floral designs was a blanket of fall flowers from her church. The pallbearers were G.S. Cornwell, J.W. Turner, R.C. Williams, H.G. Ford, H.R. Williams and J.E. Butler. Geneva Inez Gertrude (COBB; Mrs. Hurley R.)
