A native of Southampton County, he was a son of Nicholas Wilson and Mrs. Crissie Beaton Joyner and the husband of Mrs. Mary Blythe Joyner. He was a member of United Church of Christ of Hunterdale. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Jay G. Joyner Jr. of Franklin; three daughters, Mrs. Eunice Madron and Mrs. Ryland Hasty of Franklin and Mrs. Claude Drake Jr. of Newsoms; a brother, Asa Beaton Joyner of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. Tony Cobb of Franklin; seven grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. A funeral service will be held today at 3 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by Dr. R.E. Brittle and the Rev. John Williams.
