State Police said the crash occurred on U.S. Rt. 58 and involved a pickup truck driven by Joyner, a tractor-trailer and an automobile. Joyner was a member of Sebrell Methodist Church at Courtland. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Doris Bailey Joyner, a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Joyner Cooper of Suffolk, and two sisters, Mrs. T.E. Crisp of Norfolk and Mrs. S.P. Laine of Wakefield.
