Joyner was conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, Zuni by the Rev. Walker Stockburger and the Rev. Grover C. Holder. Burial was in the church cemetery with Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield in charge. Pallbearers were Seward Giles, James Joyner, George Carr, D.B. Briggs, Willie Brown and J.B. Lowe. Mrs. Joyner, 85, died in Lake Taylor City Hospital, Norfolk Wednesday after a long illness. A native of Isle of Wight County, she was the widow of Henry E. Joyner and daughter of Samuel and Mrs. Virginia Pond Joyner. She lived in Norfolk 40 years. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Mae J. Davis of Wakefield, Mrs. Ada J. Tuck of Norfolk, and Mrs. Eva Giles of Ivor; and a stepson, James Rufus Joyner of Virginia Beach. Lelia (JOYNER MANN; Mrs. Henry E.)
