LAWRENCE FOSTER JOYNER

   SMITHFIELD - A funeral service for Lawrence Foster Joyner, 60, of 
Smithfield will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home in 
Smithfield by the Rev. Walter Schwitzerlett and Rev. R.E. Brittle. 
Interment will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin.

   Lawrence F. Joyner died Monday night in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

   A native of Surry, he was the husband of Mrs. Vera Presson Joyner and 
a son of the late Willie C. and Ida Johnson Joyner.

   He was employed by ITT Gwaltney, Smithfield.

   Besides his widow, surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Kitchen, 
Suffolk; Mrs. Mitchell Morris, Franklin, Miss Elaine Joyner, Smithfield; 
six sons, Lawrence Richard Joyner, Norwalk, Conn.; Jesse Lee Joyner, 
Stanford, Conn.; SP-4 Bruce L. Joyner, U.S. Army, Germany; Lawrence Vernon 
Joyner, Wakefield; and Michael E. Joyner, both of Smithfield; three sisters, 
Mrs. Maggie Pope, Capron; and Mrs. Ruth O’Clair and Mrs. Virginia Smith, 
both of Franklin; and 14 grandchildren.
