Joyner of Ivor RFD 2, died unexpectedly at her home about noon on Monday, January 30. She was a daughter of the late Samuel and Jenny Pond Joyner of Isle of Wight County, and was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. Besides her husband she is survived by a son, James Lee Joyner of Ivor; four daughters, Mrs. Gladys B. Joyner and Mrs. George Harris, both of Ivor, Mrs. Willard Duke of Walters, and Miss Martha Odell Joyner of Franklin; and four sisters, Mrs. Henry Joyner and Mrs. Ada Tuck of Norfolk, Mrs. Mae Davis of Wakefield, and Mrs. Eva Giles of Zuni. Funeral services for Mrs. Joyner were conducted Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock at Tucker Swamp Baptist Church, with the pastor, Rev. L.E. Holzbach, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, the pallbearers being J.B. Lowe, Roscoe Simms, Lee Thomas Simms, Will Brown, Joe Mingeon, C.S. Joyner, J.M. Babb and Willie Moody. Lucille (JOYNER; Mrs. Gosper L.)
