All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MARGARET WILLS JOYNER Mrs. Margaret Wills Joyner, daughter of the late Matthew and Mary Ann Wills, was born in Southampton County, November 21, 1843, and died at her home in Sedley, June 8, 1922, after a lingering illness of more than a year. She was a member of a family of nine children, all of whom preceded her to the grave except one brother, Matthew Wills. In October 21 1881*, she was married to John T. Joyner, who with one son, Hurley R. Joyner, survive her. Mrs. Joyner was a devout Christian, a loyal church member, a devoted wife and mother. Early in life she united with Black Creek Baptist Church but after her marriage moved her membership to Johnson’s Grove Christian Church, where she remained a consistent and useful member until her death. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. W.B. Fuller, assisted by Rev. Nathan Pickett, from Grace Methodist Church Saturday afternoon at one o’clock and interment was made in Rosemont Cemetery. The active pallbearers were her nephews, John Wills, B.E. Bradshaw, N.D. Wills, Thomas Joyner, C.C. Wills and H.W. Lane. The older members of her church served as honorary pallbearers. Margaret E. (WILLS; Mrs. John T.)
