She was a daughter of the late Andrew J. and Nellie Turner Scott and the widow of Shelley Matthew Joyner. She was a lifelong and oldest member of the Hunterdale United Church of Christ where she was a member of the Hunterdale Seniors and the Hunterdale Home Demonstration Club. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley J. Wentz of Franklin; a sister, Sara Lee Allen of Franklin; five grandchildren, Edwin W. Beale III, Verna Wentz, Matt Wentz, Jim Beale, Doug Wentz; five great-grandchildren, Chad, Wade, Josh Beale and Jenny and Richard Hair. She was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret J. Beale; three sisters, Mary Bridges, Nell Makinson and Janice Panton; three brothers, Hunter Scott, Edward Scott and Vernard Scott. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Hunterdale United Church of Christ with the Rev. Dr. Alan Campbell and the Rev. Walter Snowa officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home and suggests that memorial donations be made to Hunterdale UCC, 741 Hunterdale Road, Franklin, VA 23851.
