Joyner Zuni - Mrs. Mary Eley Joyner, 84, died Sunday at 9:50 pm in a Portsmouth nursing home after a long illness. A native of Surry County, she was the wife of the late Charles M. Joyner and a daughter of Moses T. and Mrs. Virginia Barham Eley. She was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Virginia J. Voight of Newport News, Mrs. Lilian Harden of Norfolk and Mrs. Callie J Brownlee of Portsmouth; two half sisters, Mrs. Emma M Rofferson of Richmond and Miss Clara B. Mitchell of Norfolk; five grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held today at 11 am in Tucker Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Grover C. Holder.
