BAKER JOYNER This good woman died at her home in the Sycamore community May 26, 1916, the funeral being conducted on Saturday, May 27, at Sycamore Baptist Church by Dr. C.H. Rowland, in the absence of the pastor, Rev. E. Norfleet Gardner. The interment was made in the family burying ground. The deceased had been in ill health for sometime but bore her sufferings with Christian fortitude and resignation. She is survived by her husband and four children. Sarah (HARCUM; Mrs. J. Southampton Co., dt/o Ellis & Nancy [COGGSDALE/COGSDALE], Farmer m.lic. 13 Apr 1880, by clerk L.R. Edwards m. 15 Apr 1880 ["13" overwritten], Union Christian Church, by John T. Kitchen (Southampton Co. MB4:143) They appear in the 1900 Census (Franklin Dist., dwl 185) with 6 of 9 children surviving, apparently in the vicinity of Sycamore Baptist Church. Orris W. HARCUM {mis-transcribed Orin} appears on the same page (dwl 192). Orris {sn/o Warren W. & 1st wf Frances Lavinia (COBB); gs/o Thomas & Charlotte (EDWARDS) HARCUM} is buried unmarked in Sycamore Baptist Church Cemetery - Row 1, Plot 9.
