Joyner, 74, a lifelong resident of Southampton County, died Wednesday, May 28, in Courtland at the home of her son, Walter W. Joyner, after six years of ill health. Mrs. Joyner, who had made her home for fourteen years with the family of Dr. B.A. Pope of Newsoms, was the widow of William Joyner of Southampton County and the daughter of the late Darius and Maggie Joyner Britt. Besides her son she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. M.A. Burgess of Courtland and Mrs. R.F. Branch of the county; fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and one half-brother, John Williford of Pope. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon from the Holland Funeral Home, with the Rev. Randolph Gregory and the Rev. W.B. Watson officiating.
