JOYNER Suffolk, Jan. 11 - Walter A. Joyner, 55, agent for the Seaboard Air Line at its Suffolk station, died suddenly this morning at 11 o’clock at the station, of a heart attack. Mr. Joyner had been employed by the Seaboard Air Line for the past 30 years, and came to Suffolk a year ago from Branchville. Mr. Joyner left his home for his office this morning in his usual health, but lived by a short time after being stricken at his office. Surviving his are his wife, Mrs. Ola Joyner; a daughter, Miss Louse Joyner; a sister, Mrs. Pauline hart, of Boykins, and three brothers, H.L. Joyner, of Jackson, N.C., and Andrew and Roscoe Joyner of Los Angeles, Calif., and several nieces and nephews. The body was taken to the home of Pinner Street, and will be taken to Branchville for funeral services and burial. ****************************************************************************** W.A. JOYNER DIES SUDDENLY IN SUFFOLK W.A. Joyner, resident of Branchville for many years where he served as agent for the Seaboard Air Line, died suddenly in Suffolk last Friday morning of a heart attack. Mr. Joyner, who was 55 years of age, had been in the Seaboard service from 30 years, and was transferred from Branchville to Suffolk about a year ago, acting as agent for the Seaboard in that city. Walter A. Joyner was the son of the late A.E. Joyner of Seaboard, N.C., a native of this county, and his mother was Mrs. Bettie Darden Joyner of Greensville County. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ola Joyner, and a daughter, Miss Louise Joyner of Suffolk; by three brothers, former Sheriff H.L. Joyner of Jackson, N.C., Roscoe Joyner of Los Angeles, and A.J. Joyner of Grass Valley, California, and by one sister, Mrs. Pauline Hart of Boykins. Mr. Joyner was a man of fine character and a progressive citizen, widely known in railroad circles, having been division chairman of the Order of Railway Telegraphers for many years, members of this brotherhood acting as active and honorary pallbearers. Funeral services were conducted in Suffolk by the Rev. Frank B. Handley of the Boykins Baptist Church, and burial was made in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, in the presence of a large company of friends, many Seaboard employees being in Boykins for the rites.
