William T. Joyner, Sr., 84, a lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County, died Sunday afternoon. July 1, in Ivor after a prolonged illness. Survivors include three sons, William Thomas Joyner, Jr., Thomas Lee Joyner, Jr. and William Floyd Joyner, all of Ivor; five daughters, Mrs. W.T. Felts and Mrs. K.E. Bailey, both of Wakefield, Mrs. W.L. Kitchen of Zuni, Mrs. R.B. Warner of Hopewell and Mrs. M.M. Holt of Ivor; 21 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rev. E.L. Joyner of Tabor City, N.C. and H.F. Joyner of Rome, Ga., and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Richardson, pastor of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Roger Lee Cook, Ray Cook, Woodrow Johnson, Sam Cook, Luther Cook and G.C.
