Funeral arrangements are being held up pending word from a daughter in San Diego, Calif. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and Bruner Bible Class. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Effie Jane Joyner; seven daughters, Mrs. Thomas Bristow and Mrs. Milton Dailey of Suffolk; Mrs. A.L. Gardner, Mrs. E.B. Gayle, Mrs. Emmett Raiford and Mrs. Allen Raiford of Franklin and Mrs. D.R. Geist of San Diego; six sons, Thomas, Harrison and Ernest, of Newport News; S.L., Alonzo and Amos Joyner of Franklin; 40 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. His six sons will be pallbearers and the Bruner Bible Class will be honorary pallbearers.
