HETTIE TOMLIN JOURNIGAN

   COURTLAND - Mrs. Hettie Tomlin Journigan, 68, died in a Newport News 
hospital Thursday night after a long illness.

   She was the widow of Robert Burt* Journigan and a daughter of James and 
Mrs. Fanny Tomlin of Isle of Wight County.

   She was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church.

   Surviving are two grandchildren, Mrs. L.C. Journigan, Jr., of Courtland 
and Mrs. C.G. Harrup of Capron; one brother, Arthur G. Tomlin of Carrsville; 
and two grandchildren.

   A funeral service was conducted in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home 
Saturday at 4 p.m. by the Rev. C.W. Gibson, Jr., of Courtland Methodist 
Church.  Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland.

   Pallbearers were Edward Bass, Andrew Jenkins, Edwin Priggen, Joe Majette, 
Terry Gilbert and Burt Pulley.
