Grover Kizzer, 81, of the 700 block of Walnut Street, died April 1, 1989, in a nursing home. He was a native of Bedford County, and a former resident of the Holland Station in Suffolk. He had retired as a crane operator for Portsmouth Salvage Co. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Sadie Parker Kizer; a son, William G. Kizer Jr. of Holland Station; a half-brother, S.J. Chunning of Atlanta, Ga.; and two grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. David Seymour. Wright Funeral Home in Franklin is handling the arrangements. The family will receive friends at the home of Bill Kizer, 6804 Netherland Dr., Holland. Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad.
